The perfect choice of hotel for millennials and young families wanting to plan a memorable, fun filled or romantic holiday, Park Royal Pickering’s exterior façade, the curvaceous sky-garden, infinity pool, to its artistic interiors easily ranks as one of the most unique and recognisable hotel on our list. To go one step further, the hotel is also sending a message on the importance of sustainability as seen from its construction to the existing eco-friendly features in the building. The comfortable rooms are decorated with a light wood and green theme throughout (think MUJI but with more greens) and come with stunning views of the city and the iconic green garden view, if you are staying in a high floor. It is also ideally located to tourist and entertainment hotspots like Chinatown and Clarke Quay. Be prepared to flood your Instagram account with lots of pictures from this stay.
If you have been living under a rock, you probably have missed out on the massive curvaceous sky-garden designs as seen from the many aerial shots taken of PARKROYAL on Pickering by visitors from all over the world.
Embracing the sustainability and green eco-friendly millennial in me, this hotel is among one of the must visit hotels on my list.
I can say the architects of this hotel really went all out for this one. From the multi-layered concrete ceilings of the main entrance area to solar powered systems and the use of rain harvesting to save water, PARKROYAL on Pickering was designed as a hotel-as-garden that actually doubled the green-growing potential of its site.
We highly recommend you check out all the other artistic interior furnishings around the lobby, pool areas and restaurants throughout your stay.
Located beside Chinatown MRT, it is easy to explore all the nearby tourist hot spots simply by foot: Sri Mariamman Temple, the oldest Hindu temple in Singapore and the streets of Chinatown to the chic bars and cafés in Ann Siang Hill are all located right around the corner. If you are on a tight schedule, you can definitely visit all these areas in a day and experience the best of Singapore’s rich history through these modern-day establishments that are still housed in old, colonial-style shophouses.
At night, head over to the Clarke Quay and Boat Quay waterfront for a host of entertainment and dining options.
Inspired by nature and in keeping up with the hotel’s theme, PARKROYAL on Pickering rooms are furnished with an earthy mix of green and light wooden tone. Ladies will particularly enjoy finishing their romantic novel while sitting on the wooden platform leaning against the floor-to-ceiling window that overlooks the vast city skyline.
At 48m2, the Junior Suite does not feel small at all and comes with a separate work desk/living room area that is helped by the large windows which makes the whole place feel super bright, spacious, and airy.
I particularly have a soft spot for soaking in my bathtub whenever I stay at a hotel so it is comforting to know that the bathtub comes with a reclining back support and is just next to the windows that overlook plant-filled terraces. The bathroom is quite spacious and ATAS (high end) with the back-light mirrors and large walk-in rainfall showers. I recommend you spending a long Sunday afternoon soaking a salt bath
LIME restaurant is perfect for a casual dining experience due to its friendly atmosphere. With its 3 open kitchens, both your loved ones and you will be able to enjoy the impressive culinary skills of the chefs right before your eyes.
Lime serves a wide range of local, Southeast Asian, and international culinary delights. If you are a vegetarian, be sure to check out the meatless alternative with Lime’s innovative plant-based a-la-carte menu.
If you are a foodie then be sure to save some space in your stomach for the other street delicacies around the Chinatown, Ann Siang Road, Clarke Quay and Boat Quay areas!
Located on the 5th floor, is the dedicated wellness space that comprises the infinity pool, fitness, and recreational facilities. A visit to PARKROYAL on Pickering is not complete without taking a dip in the infinity pool overlooking the city below, lying back in one of the colorful cabanas while taking in the lush greenery or taking a stroll along the 300-metre garden walk while filling up your Instagram with all the pictures that will make your friends envy.
To relax and soothe your muscles, check out St. Gregory, an award-winning spa that is also located on the same level.
